Client: Do you know off the top of your head anything about (esoteric function for third party application)?
Us: Not really, but some quick searching brought up these links…
Client: That’s not really helpful.
What we didn’t say: Gee, sorry that we’re not omnipotent and know every single detail about every single application in existence - including those that no on here use.
Us: Well, we don’t really support third party applications directly. We can do some more searching, and/or ask one of our other clients who does use that application, if you like.
Client: I have to have this site up in a week, and if they can’t help and you can’t help, then I’m cooked.
Ah, yes. Nothing like waiting until the very last possible moment.
